MF 500 Tablet is a prescription-only medication containing Metformin as the active ingredient, in a strength of 500mg per tablet. It is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, specifically for patients who do not respond to diet therapy or whose hyperglycemia has not been adequately controlled by sulfonylurea therapy. MF 500 Tablet is a biguanide class medication that reduces glucose production in the liver and increases glucose utilization in the periphery, thereby improving glycemic control. It is usually taken twice daily, before meals, with or without food. The tablet is white to off-white in color, round in shape, and scored on one side.
