Metosartan LN 25 Tablet ER is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Cilnidipine (10 mg), Metoprolol Succinate (23.75 mg), and Telmisartan (40 mg). This extended-release formulation is designed to provide sustained blood pressure control in patients with hypertension. Cilnidipine, a calcium channel blocker, acts by inhibiting L-type and N-type calcium channels, resulting in vasodilation and reduction of peripheral vascular resistance. Metoprolol Succinate, a selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker, decreases heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing cardiac workload. Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), prevents vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion by selectively blocking the AT1 receptor, contributing to vasodilation and sodium excretion.
