Clotrimazole acts by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, leading to increased membrane permeability and fungal cell death. Metibet-C Lotion is applied topically to the affected area, typically twice daily, ensuring the skin is clean and dry before application. Treatment duration should be limited to the shortest period necessary to control symptoms, generally not exceeding two weeks, to minimize potential corticosteroid-related adverse effects such as skin atrophy, telangiectasia, or systemic absorption.
