Metoprolol Succinate, a selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker, decreases heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, thereby lowering blood pressure. The sustained-release formulation ensures a gradual and prolonged therapeutic effect, enhancing patient compliance and minimizing fluctuations in plasma drug levels. Metclot 10/50 is indicated for the management of essential hypertension, particularly in patients requiring combination therapy to achieve optimal blood pressure control.
