Melnor Cream is a topical dermatological formulation combining Hydroquinone 2% w/w, Mometasone 0.1% w/w, and Tretinoin 0.025% w/w, designed for the treatment of hyperpigmentation disorders such as melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and other pigmentary abnormalities. Hydroquinone acts as a depigmenting agent by inhibiting tyrosinase, thereby reducing melanin synthesis in the skin. Mometasone, a potent corticosteroid, provides anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects, helping to reduce erythema, edema, and irritation associated with pigmentary conditions. Tretinoin, a retinoid, promotes epidermal cell turnover and enhances the penetration of Hydroquinone, facilitating the removal of pigmented keratinocytes and improving skin texture. The combination therapy aims to achieve effective and rapid reduction of hyperpigmentation while minimizing inflammatory responses. Melnor Cream should be applied once daily to the affected areas, preferably at night, under medical supervision. Caution is advised to avoid excessive sun exposure and use of sunscreen is recommended during treatment to prevent phototoxicity and recurrence of pigmentation. This product is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component, pregnant or lactating women, and should be used with caution in individuals with sensitive skin or pre-existing dermatological conditions.
