About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Maxrel Tablet is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication containing Diclofenac 50 mg and Paracetamol 325 mg. Diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. Paracetamol, an analgesic and antipyretic agent, acts centrally to alleviate pain and reduce fever through inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. Maxrel Tablet is indicated for the management of mild to moderate pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, dental pain, postoperative pain, and dysmenorrhea. The combination provides enhanced analgesic efficacy by targeting multiple pain pathways while minimizing the required dose of each component, potentially reducing adverse effects. Maxrel should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, hepatic or renal impairment, cardiovascular disease, or hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or paracetamol. It is contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer, severe hepatic or renal dysfunction, and known hypersensitivity to any component. Dosage and duration should be individualized based on clinical response and patient tolerance. Patients are advised to avoid concurrent use of other NSAIDs or paracetamol-containing products to prevent toxicity.
