About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Maxiflo 125 Inhaler is a combination respiratory medication containing Formoterol (6 mcg) and Fluticasone Propionate (125 mcg) designed for the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Formoterol is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) that provides bronchodilation by relaxing airway smooth muscle, thereby improving airflow and reducing symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath. Fluticasone Propionate is an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) with potent anti-inflammatory properties that help decrease airway inflammation, reduce mucus production, and prevent exacerbations. The synergistic effect of these two active ingredients offers both immediate and sustained relief from bronchospasm while addressing the underlying inflammatory component of airway diseases. Maxiflo 125 Inhaler is indicated for patients requiring maintenance treatment to control persistent asthma or COPD symptoms and to reduce the frequency of exacerbations. It is not intended for relief of acute bronchospasm. The inhaler should be used regularly as prescribed, with dosing individualized based on patient response and severity of disease. Common side effects may include throat irritation, hoarseness, and oral candidiasis, which can be minimized by rinsing the mouth after use. Patients should be monitored for potential systemic corticosteroid effects during long-term therapy.
