Mavtac Ointment contains Tacrolimus 0.03% w/w, a topical immunomodulator indicated for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in patients who have not responded adequately to conventional therapies. Tacrolimus acts by inhibiting calcineurin, thereby suppressing T-lymphocyte activation and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which reduces inflammation and pruritus associated with eczema. Mavtac Ointment is applied thinly to the affected areas twice daily, avoiding contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. It is particularly useful for sensitive skin regions such as the face, neck, and flexural areas where corticosteroid use may be limited due to potential side effects.
