Maball-RA 500 Solution for Infusion contains Rituximab 500 mg, a chimeric monoclonal antibody targeting the CD20 antigen expressed on the surface of pre-B and mature B lymphocytes. It is indicated for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in adult patients with moderate to severe active disease who have had an inadequate response or intolerance to one or more tumor necrosis factor (TNF) antagonist therapies. Rituximab mediates B-cell depletion through complement-dependent cytotoxicity, antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity, and induction of apoptosis, thereby reducing inflammation and joint damage associated with RA. Maball-RA 500 is administered as an intravenous infusion under strict medical supervision, with dosing typically consisting of two 1000 mg infusions separated by two weeks, repeated based on clinical response and B-cell recovery. Premedication with corticosteroids, antihistamines, and antipyretics is recommended to minimize infusion-related reactions. Patients should be monitored for signs of infection, infusion reactions, and progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML). Use is contraindicated in patients with active severe infections and known hypersensitivity to Rituximab or murine proteins. Maball-RA 500 should be used with caution in patients with cardiac conditions and in those receiving concomitant immunosuppressive therapies.
