Luzibel 1% Cream contains luliconazole 1% w/w, a topical antifungal agent belonging to the imidazole class, indicated for the treatment of superficial fungal infections of the skin. Luliconazole exhibits broad-spectrum antifungal activity by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby disrupting cell membrane integrity and leading to fungal cell death. Luzibel 1% Cream is primarily prescribed for dermatophytic infections such as tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and tinea pedis, as well as for candidal infections of the skin. The cream formulation allows for targeted application, ensuring effective local drug concentration with minimal systemic absorption. Typically, the cream is applied once daily to the affected area and surrounding skin for a duration of 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the severity and type of infection. Patients should be advised to cleanse and dry the affected area before application and to continue treatment for the prescribed duration even if symptoms improve earlier to prevent recurrence. Adverse effects are generally mild and may include local irritation, burning sensation, or erythema. Luzibel 1% Cream is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to luliconazole or any cream excipients. It is not recommended for use on mucous membranes or in systemic fungal infections.
