Luliz Cream contains Luliconazole 1% w/w, a topical antifungal agent belonging to the imidazole class. It is indicated for the treatment of superficial fungal infections of the skin, including dermatophytosis, candidiasis, and pityriasis versicolor. Luliconazole exerts its antifungal effect by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, thereby disrupting cell membrane integrity and leading to fungal cell death. The cream formulation allows for effective localized delivery and rapid penetration into the stratum corneum, ensuring targeted action with minimal systemic absorption. Luliz Cream is typically applied once daily to the affected area and surrounding skin after cleansing and drying, with treatment duration varying based on the type and severity of infection, generally ranging from one to four weeks. It is well tolerated, with adverse effects being infrequent and usually limited to mild local reactions such as burning, itching, or erythema at the application site. Luliz Cream is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to luliconazole or any of the cream’s excipients.
