About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Lubrigel Ocular Lubricant contains Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose 2% w/w, a viscoelastic polymer designed to provide effective relief from dry eye symptoms. This ophthalmic lubricant acts by mimicking natural tears, enhancing ocular surface hydration and protecting the corneal epithelium from irritation caused by environmental factors, prolonged screen use, or contact lens wear. The formulation increases tear film stability, reduces friction between the eyelid and the ocular surface, and promotes comfort in patients experiencing dryness, burning, or foreign body sensation. Lubrigel is suitable for frequent use and can be administered as needed to maintain ocular moisture. It is preservative-free, minimizing the risk of hypersensitivity reactions and making it appropriate for individuals with sensitive eyes or those requiring long-term therapy. The product is compatible with contact lenses, although lenses should be removed prior to instillation and may be reinserted 15 minutes afterward. Lubrigel Ocular Lubricant is indicated for the symptomatic relief of dry eye syndrome, exposure keratopathy, and other conditions associated with tear deficiency or instability. Patients are advised to follow recommended dosing instructions and consult an eye care professional if symptoms persist or worsen.
