Ltsp 10 Tablet contains Melatonin 10 mg, a synthetic form of the naturally occurring hormone produced by the pineal gland that regulates the sleep-wake cycle. It is primarily indicated for the short-term management of insomnia and other sleep disorders characterized by difficulty in falling asleep or maintaining sleep. Melatonin acts by binding to melatonin receptors in the brain, thereby modulating circadian rhythms and promoting the onset of sleep. Ltsp 10 Tablet is commonly used in patients experiencing jet lag, shift work-related sleep disturbances, and certain circadian rhythm sleep disorders. It may also be beneficial in improving sleep quality in elderly patients with reduced endogenous melatonin production. The tablet should be taken orally, preferably 30 minutes to an hour before bedtime. The dosage and duration of treatment should be individualized based on the patient’s condition and response to therapy. Common side effects include headache, dizziness, and daytime drowsiness, although these are generally mild and transient.
