LTK-H Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Losartan 50 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Losartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, works by blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, resulting in vasodilation and reduced secretion of aldosterone, thereby lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes diuresis by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, leading to decreased plasma volume and reduced peripheral vascular resistance. This synergistic combination is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, particularly in patients who require multiple antihypertensive agents to achieve optimal blood pressure control. LTK-H Tablet helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke, myocardial infarction, and heart failure associated with hypertension. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to either component, anuria, or severe renal impairment. Caution is advised in patients with electrolyte imbalances, hepatic dysfunction, or a history of gout. Common adverse effects may include dizziness, hypotension, hyperkalemia, and electrolyte disturbances.
