Lowtel-H Tablet contains a combination of Telmisartan 40 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg, formulated for the management of hypertension. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby inhibiting vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, which results in vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that promotes diuresis by inhibiting sodium and chloride reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidney, leading to decreased plasma volume and peripheral vascular resistance. The synergistic effect of these two agents provides effective and sustained blood pressure control, reducing the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke, myocardial infarction, and heart failure. Lowtel-H is indicated for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy.
