By selectively inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, Rosuvastatin effectively reduces the synthesis of cholesterol in the liver, leading to decreased levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), total cholesterol, and triglycerides, while modestly increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Liplor 20 is indicated for primary hyperlipidemia, familial hypercholesterolemia, and for the prevention of cardiovascular disease in high-risk patients.
