Lipitas 10 Tablet contains Rosuvastatin 10 mg, a potent lipid-lowering agent belonging to the statin class of medications. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia to reduce elevated total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B, and triglycerides, while increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Rosuvastatin acts by selectively inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, leading to decreased cholesterol production in the liver and increased clearance of LDL particles from the bloodstream. Lipitas 10 is used as an adjunct to diet and lifestyle modifications such as diet, exercise, and weight control, particularly in patients at high risk for cardiovascular disease, including those with established atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, or multiple risk factors. The medication is administered orally, usually once daily, with or without food.
