Leerex-DX Syrup is a combination medication containing Chlorpheniramine Maleate (4mg) and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide (10mg) per dose, formulated to provide symptomatic relief from cough and allergic conditions. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antihistamine that effectively alleviates allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes by blocking histamine H1 receptors. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide acts as a centrally acting antitussive, suppressing the cough reflex by affecting the cough center in the medulla oblongata, thereby reducing the frequency and intensity of cough. Caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to either component, and it should be used with care in individuals with respiratory depression, glaucoma, or prostatic hypertrophy.
