Labeson Tablet contains Labetalol 100 mg, a combined alpha- and beta-adrenergic blocker used primarily in the management of hypertension. Labetalol exerts its antihypertensive effect by blocking beta-1 and beta-2 adrenergic receptors, leading to decreased heart rate and myocardial contractility, as well as alpha-1 receptor blockade resulting in vasodilation and reduced peripheral vascular resistance. This dual mechanism effectively lowers blood pressure without significantly compromising cardiac output or causing reflex tachycardia. Labeson is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension, hypertensive emergencies, and in certain cases of hypertension associated with pregnancy, such as preeclampsia. Common side effects may include dizziness, fatigue, nausea, and mild orthostatic hypotension.
