Kufflok-DX 30 Tablet contains Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide 30 mg, a centrally acting antitussive agent used to suppress dry, non-productive coughs associated with upper respiratory tract infections. Dextromethorphan acts on the cough center in the medulla oblongata, elevating the threshold for cough reflex, thereby providing symptomatic relief from persistent coughing. It is indicated for temporary relief of coughs caused by minor throat and bronchial irritation. Kufflok-DX 30 is not intended for productive coughs where expectoration is necessary. The medication is generally well tolerated; however, it should be used with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to dextromethorphan or any other component of the formulation. It is contraindicated in children under 4 years of age and should be used cautiously in patients with respiratory depression, asthma, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Concomitant use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of their discontinuation is contraindicated due to the risk of serotonin syndrome. Common adverse effects may include dizziness, nausea, and gastrointestinal discomfort.
