Ktel-H 40 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Telmisartan 40 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby reducing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, leading to decreased blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that promotes the excretion of sodium and water by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, contributing to a reduction in blood volume and peripheral resistance. The synergistic action of these two agents provides effective management of hypertension, helping to prevent complications such as stroke, myocardial infarction, and renal impairment. Ktel-H 40 is indicated for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy.
