About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Koxituf-MR Tablet is a combination medication containing Etoricoxib 60 mg and Thiocolchicoside 4 mg, formulated for the management of musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. Etoricoxib, a selective COX-2 inhibitor, exerts potent anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-2 enzyme, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis involved in pain and inflammation. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant with anti-inflammatory properties, acting as a competitive antagonist of GABA and glycine receptors, which helps alleviate muscle spasms and stiffness. The synergistic action of these two agents makes Koxituf-MR effective in treating acute musculoskeletal conditions such as low back pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory joint disorders. This combination provides rapid relief from pain and muscle spasm, improving mobility and patient comfort. Koxituf-MR should be used under medical supervision, with caution advised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal ulcers, or hepatic impairment. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, and mild allergic reactions. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to its components, severe hepatic or renal impairment, and during pregnancy or lactation. Proper dosage and duration should be adhered to as per physician guidance to ensure safety and efficacy.
