Kolimef-P Oral Suspension is a combination analgesic and antipyretic formulation containing Mefenamic Acid (50mg/5ml) and Paracetamol (125mg/5ml). This suspension is indicated for the relief of mild to moderate pain and fever associated with various conditions such as dental pain, musculoskeletal pain, dysmenorrhea, and common febrile illnesses. Mefenamic Acid, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for inflammation and pain. Paracetamol complements this action by providing central analgesic and antipyretic effects through inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system.
