Knozole-B Cream is a topical formulation combining Beclometasone dipropionate (0.025% w/w), a potent corticosteroid, with Ketoconazole (2% w/w), an antifungal agent, designed for the treatment of inflammatory and fungal skin conditions. Beclometasone exerts anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators, thereby reducing erythema, swelling, and itching. Ketoconazole, an imidazole antifungal, acts by disrupting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, leading to increased membrane permeability and fungal cell death. Knozole-B Cream is indicated for the management of superficial dermatophytic infections and candidiasis accompanied by significant inflammatory responses, such as tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and seborrheic dermatitis. The cream should be applied topically to the affected area twice daily, with treatment duration typically ranging from 2 to 4 weeks depending on clinical response. Caution is advised to avoid prolonged use or application on large surface areas to minimize potential corticosteroid-related adverse effects, including skin atrophy and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression. Use is contraindicated in viral infections, acne, and rosacea.
