Ketrocin Injection contains Ketorolac 30mg, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the short-term management of moderate to severe acute pain requiring analgesia at the opioid level. Ketorolac exerts its effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in inflammation, pain, and fever. Ketrocin Injection is administered intramuscularly or intravenously, providing rapid onset of analgesic action. It is commonly utilized postoperatively or in acute musculoskeletal conditions to alleviate pain and inflammation. The use of Ketrocin is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ketorolac, aspirin, or other NSAIDs, active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, severe renal impairment, or in those at risk of bleeding complications. Caution is advised in patients with cardiovascular disease, hepatic impairment, or those receiving concomitant anticoagulant therapy. The duration of therapy should not exceed five days to minimize the risk of adverse effects such as gastrointestinal ulceration, renal toxicity, and increased bleeding tendency.
