About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Kapara-MF Oral Suspension is a combination analgesic and antipyretic formulation containing Mefenamic Acid 100 mg and Paracetamol 250 mg per 5 ml. It is indicated for the relief of mild to moderate pain and fever associated with conditions such as headache, dental pain, musculoskeletal pain, dysmenorrhea, and febrile illnesses. Mefenamic Acid, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for inflammation and pain. Paracetamol provides analgesic and antipyretic effects through central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis and modulation of the endogenous cannabinoid system. The oral suspension formulation allows for ease of administration and accurate dosing, particularly in pediatric and geriatric populations. Kapara-MF should be used with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or paracetamol, hepatic or renal impairment, and gastrointestinal disorders. It is contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer disease or severe hepatic dysfunction. Dosage should be individualized based on patient age, weight, and clinical condition, and therapy should not exceed the recommended duration to minimize adverse effects. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, and allergic reactions. Consultation with a healthcare professional is advised prior to use.

About Paracetamol
Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic medication commonly used to alleviate mild to moderate pain and reduce fever. It is effective for various types of pain, including headaches, toothaches, muscle aches, and menstrual cramps. By inhibiting the production of prostaglandins in the brain, Paracetamol reduces pain perception and lowers body temperature by acting on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center. This widely used over-the-counter medication is generally well-tolerated and provides effective relief from discomfort. In simple terms, Paracetamol is a go-to remedy for pain and fever.
How It Works
Paracetamol works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, leading to reduced synthesis of prostaglandins in the brain, which are responsible for pain and fever.
All Active Ingredients
Mefenamic Acid
Mefenamic acid inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which mediate pain and inflammation.
