Jupiros 40 Tablet contains Rosuvastatin 40 mg, a potent lipid-lowering agent belonging to the statin class of medications. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia to reduce elevated total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B, and triglycerides, while increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Rosuvastatin acts by selectively inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, thereby decreasing cholesterol production in the liver and enhancing clearance of LDL particles from the bloodstream. Jupiros 40 is prescribed as an adjunct to diet modification and lifestyle changes such as exercise and weight control to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events, including myocardial infarction, stroke, and the need for coronary revascularization in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease or multiple risk factors. The tablet is intended for oral administration once daily, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.
