Ivertol-Plus Tablet contains a combination of Ivermectin (6mg) and Albendazole (400mg), formulated for the effective treatment of a broad spectrum of parasitic infections. Ivermectin is a potent antiparasitic agent that acts by binding selectively to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in nerve and muscle cells of invertebrates, leading to paralysis and death of the parasites. Albendazole, a benzimidazole carbamate, inhibits microtubule synthesis in parasitic worms, disrupting their cellular structure and function, resulting in their elimination. This combination is particularly effective against intestinal helminths, including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and tapeworms, as well as tissue-dwelling parasites such as filarial worms.
