Iohexol Injection, containing 647 mg/ml of Iohexol, is a non-ionic, water-soluble radiographic contrast agent used to enhance the visibility of vascular structures and organs during diagnostic imaging procedures such as computed tomography (CT), angiography, and urography. Its low osmolality compared to older contrast media reduces the risk of adverse reactions, making it suitable for patients requiring detailed visualization of blood vessels, the urinary tract, or other anatomical regions. Iohexol works by increasing the contrast between different tissues, allowing for more accurate diagnosis of pathological conditions including tumors, vascular diseases, and urinary tract obstructions. The injection is administered intravenously or intra-arterially under strict medical supervision, with dosage tailored to the specific imaging requirements and patient condition. While generally well tolerated, Iohexol may cause side effects such as mild nausea, headache, or injection site reactions; rare but serious hypersensitivity reactions can occur and warrant immediate medical attention.
