Intacoxia 90 Tablet contains Etoricoxib 90 mg, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor used primarily for the management of pain and inflammation associated with various musculoskeletal and joint disorders. Etoricoxib exerts its therapeutic effects by selectively inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation, while sparing COX-1, which helps maintain gastrointestinal mucosal integrity. This selective action results in effective analgesic and anti-inflammatory benefits with a potentially lower risk of gastrointestinal adverse effects compared to non-selective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Intacoxia 90 is indicated for the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute gouty arthritis.
