About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Ingvas F 160mg/10mg Tablet is a combination lipid-lowering agent containing Fenofibrate 160mg and Rosuvastatin 10mg, indicated for the management of dyslipidemia and mixed hyperlipidemia. Fenofibrate, a fibric acid derivative, primarily reduces triglyceride levels and increases high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) by activating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα), which enhances lipolysis and elimination of triglyceride-rich particles. Rosuvastatin, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, effectively lowers low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) by inhibiting the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, leading to increased clearance of LDL particles. The combination therapy provides a complementary mechanism of action, improving lipid profiles more effectively than monotherapy. Ingvas F is indicated for patients with mixed dyslipidemia who require simultaneous reduction of LDL-C and triglycerides and/or elevation of HDL-C, particularly when monotherapy is insufficient. This formulation should be used alongside lifestyle modifications including diet and exercise. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic or renal impairment, and periodic monitoring of liver enzymes, renal function, and muscle symptoms is recommended to detect potential adverse effects such as myopathy or hepatotoxicity. Ingvas F should be prescribed under medical supervision with individualized dosing and monitoring.

About Rosuvastatin
Rosuvastatin is a statin used to lower LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. It works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, a key enzyme in cholesterol synthesis. This medication is crucial for managing dyslipidemia. In summary, Rosuvastatin is effective in lowering cholesterol levels and preventing heart disease.
How It Works
Rosuvastatin inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, decreasing cholesterol synthesis in the liver and increasing LDL receptor expression.
All Active Ingredients
Fenofibrate
