Indomax-SR Capsule contains Indomethacin 75 mg, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the management of moderate to severe pain, inflammation, and stiffness associated with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute musculoskeletal disorders. Indomethacin exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for inflammation, pain, and fever. The sustained-release formulation of Indomax-SR allows for prolonged drug plasma concentration, enhancing patient compliance through once or twice daily dosing while minimizing gastrointestinal irritation commonly associated with immediate-release NSAIDs. It is recommended to administer Indomax-SR with food or milk to further reduce gastrointestinal discomfort. Caution is advised in patients with a history of peptic ulcer disease, renal or hepatic impairment, cardiovascular disorders, or hypersensitivity to NSAIDs. Concomitant use with anticoagulants, corticosteroids, or other NSAIDs should be avoided due to increased risk of adverse effects. Common side effects include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, and elevated liver enzymes. Indomax-SR should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms, and patients should be monitored regularly for signs of adverse reactions.
