Indomax 25 Capsule contains Indomethacin 25 mg, a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used primarily for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. Indomethacin exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation, pain, and fever. Indomax 25 is indicated for the management of various inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute gouty arthritis. It is also effective in treating moderate to severe pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders and postoperative pain. The recommended dosage should be individualized based on the severity of the condition and patient response, with caution advised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding disorders, or renal impairment. Common adverse effects include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, headache, dizziness, and, rarely, serious gastrointestinal bleeding or cardiovascular events. Indomax 25 should be used under medical supervision, particularly in patients with cardiovascular risk factors or concomitant use of anticoagulants.
