About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Improgesic Gel is a topical analgesic formulation containing Aceclofenac (1.50% w/w), Linseed Oil (3.0% w/w), Methyl Salicylate (10% w/w), Menthol (5% w/w), and Capsaicin (0.01% w/w). Aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), provides effective relief from pain and inflammation by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis. Linseed Oil contributes anti-inflammatory and skin-conditioning properties, enhancing the overall therapeutic effect. Methyl Salicylate acts as a counterirritant, producing a warming sensation that helps alleviate musculoskeletal discomfort. Menthol imparts a cooling effect, facilitating symptomatic relief through sensory nerve modulation. Capsaicin, derived from chili peppers, functions by depleting substance P from sensory neurons, thereby reducing pain transmission. The synergistic combination of these active ingredients in Improgesic Gel is indicated for the management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, including strains, sprains, arthritis, and backache. The gel formulation allows for targeted application, minimizing systemic exposure and associated adverse effects. Improgesic Gel should be applied topically to the affected area two to three times daily, avoiding broken or irritated skin. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component and should be used with caution in individuals with skin disorders.
