Ildomex-AT Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing S-Amlodipine 2.5 mg and Atenolol 50 mg. S-Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, acts by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, leading to vasodilation and reduced peripheral resistance, thereby lowering blood pressure. Atenolol, a selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker, decreases heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, contributing to antihypertensive effects and reducing myocardial oxygen demand. The synergistic action of these agents provides effective management of hypertension and angina pectoris. Ildomex-AT is indicated for patients requiring combination therapy to achieve optimal blood pressure control or those with coexisting angina. It is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, and hypersensitivity to any component. Caution is advised in patients with asthma, diabetes mellitus, and peripheral vascular disease. Common adverse effects include dizziness, fatigue, headache, and peripheral edema.
