About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Icotor 60mg/4mg Tablet is a combination medication containing Etoricoxib 60mg and Thiocolchicoside 4mg, indicated for the management of musculoskeletal disorders characterized by pain and inflammation accompanied by muscle spasms. Etoricoxib is a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor that provides effective analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in the inflammatory process, thereby alleviating pain and swelling. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant with antispasmodic properties, acting as a competitive antagonist of glycine and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors, which helps reduce muscle stiffness and spasms. The combination of these two active ingredients offers a synergistic effect, improving patient mobility and comfort in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, low back pain, and other musculoskeletal inflammatory disorders. Icotor should be used under medical supervision, considering contraindications such as hypersensitivity to either component, active gastrointestinal bleeding, severe hepatic or renal impairment, and cardiovascular risk factors. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, and mild allergic reactions. Patients are advised to adhere strictly to prescribed dosages and report any unusual symptoms to their healthcare provider promptly.
