Xylometazoline acts as a selective alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist, causing vasoconstriction of the nasal mucosal blood vessels, thereby reducing swelling and nasal obstruction. This mechanism facilitates easier breathing through the nasal passages. Hynoz-P Nasal Drops provide rapid onset of action, typically within minutes, and their effects may last up to 10-12 hours. The product is intended for short-term use, generally not exceeding 3 to 5 consecutive days, to avoid rebound congestion (rhinitis medicamentosa). It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to xylometazoline or any other components of the formulation.
