HY 25 Tablet contains Hydroxyzine 25 mg, an antihistamine with anxiolytic, sedative, and antiemetic properties. It is primarily indicated for the management of anxiety and tension associated with psychoneurosis and as an adjunct in organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. Additionally, HY 25 Tablet is effective in the symptomatic relief of pruritus due to allergic conditions such as chronic urticaria, atopic and contact dermatoses, and in the treatment of nausea and vomiting. Hydroxyzine acts by antagonizing central and peripheral histamine H1 receptors, thereby reducing allergic symptoms and exerting a calming effect on the central nervous system. The recommended dosage should be individualized according to the severity of symptoms and patient response, with caution advised in elderly patients and those with impaired hepatic or renal function. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives. Common adverse effects may include drowsiness, dry mouth, and headache. HY 25 Tablet should be used under medical supervision, particularly when combined with other central nervous system depressants, to avoid additive sedative effects.
