Htrex Tablet contains Hydroxyzine 10 mg, an antihistamine with anxiolytic, sedative, and antipruritic properties. It is primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of anxiety and tension associated with psychoneurosis and as an adjunct in organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. Hydroxyzine acts by antagonizing central and peripheral histamine H1 receptors, thereby reducing allergic symptoms such as itching and urticaria. Additionally, it possesses significant sedative effects, making it useful in preoperative sedation and to potentiate the effects of analgesics. Htrex is also employed in the management of nausea and vomiting and may be used to alleviate symptoms of allergic conditions including atopic dermatitis and contact dermatitis. The onset of action is typically rapid, with effects lasting several hours. The recommended dosage should be individualized based on the patient’s condition and response to therapy, with caution advised in elderly patients and those with impaired hepatic or renal function.
