Hmgstat ASP Capsule is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Rosuvastatin 10 mg and Aspirin 75 mg, indicated for the management of hyperlipidemia and cardiovascular risk reduction. Rosuvastatin, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, effectively lowers low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), total cholesterol, and triglycerides while modestly increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Aspirin, a low-dose antiplatelet agent, irreversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), thereby reducing thromboxane A2 production and platelet aggregation, which aids in the prevention of thrombotic cardiovascular events. This fixed-dose combination is primarily prescribed for patients with established atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease or those at high risk for such events, including individuals with dyslipidemia and concomitant risk factors like hypertension or diabetes mellitus. The dual action of lipid-lowering and antiplatelet effects provides a synergistic approach to reducing the incidence of myocardial infarction, stroke, and other cardiovascular complications. Hmgstat ASP Capsule should be administered once daily, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food. Patients should be monitored regularly for lipid profiles, liver function tests, and potential adverse effects such as myopathy or gastrointestinal discomfort. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment, bleeding disorders, or those on concurrent anticoagulant therapy.
