About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Hifenac Max Tablet is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication containing Thiocolchicoside (4mg), Aceclofenac (100mg), and Paracetamol (325mg). This formulation is indicated for the management of musculoskeletal pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as acute back pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and soft tissue injuries. Thiocolchicoside acts as a muscle relaxant by selectively inhibiting gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glycine receptors, thereby reducing muscle spasms and stiffness. Aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), provides potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), leading to decreased prostaglandin synthesis. Paracetamol contributes additional analgesic and antipyretic properties through central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. The synergistic action of these three active ingredients offers effective relief from pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms. Hifenac Max should be used under medical supervision, particularly in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, hepatic or renal impairment, or hypersensitivity to NSAIDs. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, dizziness, or allergic reactions. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component and should be used with caution in pregnant or lactating women.
