Hbsalic Ointment is a topical formulation containing Halobetasol propionate 0.05% w/w and Salicylic Acid 3% w/w, indicated for the treatment of various inflammatory and hyperkeratotic dermatological conditions. Halobetasol propionate is a potent corticosteroid that exerts anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by modulating the release of inflammatory mediators and suppressing immune responses in the skin. Salicylic Acid acts as a keratolytic agent, promoting the exfoliation of the stratum corneum and facilitating the penetration of Halobetasol into affected areas. This combination is particularly effective in managing conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and lichen planus, where reduction of inflammation and removal of scales or plaques are desired. Hbsalic Ointment should be applied sparingly to the affected area once or twice daily, as directed by a healthcare professional, and treatment duration should be limited to minimize the risk of adverse effects associated with prolonged corticosteroid use, including skin atrophy, telangiectasia, and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression.
