Halox Cream contains Halobetasol 0.05% w/w, a potent topical corticosteroid indicated for the treatment of various inflammatory and pruritic dermatoses responsive to corticosteroids, including psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis. Halobetasol exerts anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by inhibiting multiple inflammatory cytokines and mediators, thereby reducing redness, swelling, and itching. Halox Cream should be applied sparingly to the affected area once or twice daily as directed by a healthcare professional. The duration of therapy is generally limited to two weeks to minimize the risk of adverse effects. Prolonged or excessive use may lead to local side effects such as skin atrophy, telangiectasia, striae, and potential systemic absorption resulting in hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression. Halox Cream is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to halobetasol or any cream components, and should not be used on infected skin unless appropriate antimicrobial therapy is concurrently administered. Caution is advised when applying to large surface areas, occluded skin, or in pediatric populations. Patients should avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Discontinuation of therapy should be gradual to prevent rebound effects. Halox Cream is for external use only and should be stored at controlled room temperature away from direct sunlight.
