About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Haloderm Cream contains Halobetasol 0.05% w/w, a potent topical corticosteroid indicated for the treatment of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses such as psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis. Halobetasol exerts anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by modulating the release of inflammatory mediators and suppressing immune responses in the affected skin areas. Haloderm Cream is intended for short-term use due to its high potency and should be applied sparingly to the affected areas once or twice daily as directed by a healthcare professional. Prolonged use or application over large surface areas may increase the risk of systemic absorption and associated adverse effects, including hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression. Common adverse reactions include local burning, itching, irritation, dryness, and folliculitis. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to halobetasol or any components of the formulation, as well as in untreated bacterial, fungal, or viral skin infections. Caution is advised when used in pediatric patients, pregnant or lactating women. Patients should avoid occlusive dressings unless prescribed and discontinue use if signs of local adverse reactions occur. Haloderm Cream should be stored at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.
