Halobetasol exerts anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by modulating the release of inflammatory mediators and suppressing immune responses in the skin. Halobet Cream is primarily prescribed for conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, and lichen planus, providing rapid symptomatic relief from redness, swelling, and itching. The formulation is intended for external use only and should be applied in a thin layer to the affected area, typically once or twice daily, as directed by a healthcare professional. Prolonged or excessive use may increase the risk of local adverse effects including skin atrophy, telangiectasia, and secondary infections. Systemic absorption is minimal when used appropriately; however, caution is advised in extensive or occlusive applications to prevent systemic corticosteroid effects. Halobet Cream is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to halobetasol or any component of the formulation, and in untreated bacterial, viral, or fungal skin infections.
