Gudpres-XL 25 Capsule contains Metoprolol Succinate 23.75 mg, a cardioselective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker used primarily in the management of hypertension, angina pectoris, and heart failure. By selectively blocking beta-1 receptors in the heart, Metoprolol Succinate reduces heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, thereby lowering blood pressure and decreasing myocardial oxygen demand. The extended-release formulation of Gudpres-XL 25 ensures a sustained therapeutic effect, allowing once-daily dosing and improved patient compliance. It is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension, stable angina, and to reduce mortality and hospitalization in patients with heart failure of ischemic, hypertensive, or cardiomyopathic origin. Additionally, it may be used for secondary prevention following myocardial infarction.
