Grilinctus-DX Syrup is a combination antitussive and antihistaminic formulation containing Chlorpheniramine Maleate (2mg/5ml) and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide (10mg/5ml). Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an H1 histamine receptor antagonist that alleviates allergic symptoms by inhibiting the effects of histamine, thereby reducing nasal congestion, sneezing, and rhinorrhea. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide acts centrally on the cough center in the medulla to suppress the cough reflex without causing respiratory depression or sedation at therapeutic doses. This dual-action syrup is indicated for the symptomatic relief of dry, non-productive cough associated with upper respiratory tract infections, allergic rhinitis, and other inflammatory conditions of the respiratory tract. Grilinctus-DX Syrup provides effective cough suppression while simultaneously addressing allergic manifestations, improving patient comfort and quality of life. It is generally well tolerated; however, caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to either component, and it should be used with care in individuals with respiratory depression, asthma, or concurrent use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Dosage should be individualized according to age and severity of symptoms, and prolonged use is not recommended without medical supervision.
