About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Glycohale FB Rotacap is a combination inhalation therapy containing Glycopyrrolate (25 mcg), Formoterol (12 mcg), and Budesonide (400 mcg), indicated for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. Glycopyrrolate, a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA), provides bronchodilation by inhibiting acetylcholine-mediated bronchoconstriction. Formoterol, a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA), facilitates smooth muscle relaxation in the airways, improving airflow and reducing symptoms such as wheezing and breathlessness. Budesonide, an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS), exerts potent anti-inflammatory effects, decreasing airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness. The combination of these agents offers a complementary mechanism of action, enhancing bronchodilation while controlling inflammation, thereby improving lung function and reducing exacerbations. Glycohale FB Rotacap is delivered via a rotahaler device, ensuring targeted pulmonary deposition and rapid onset of action. It is recommended for patients requiring both bronchodilation and anti-inflammatory therapy, particularly those inadequately controlled on monotherapy. Common adverse effects may include headache, dry mouth, throat irritation, and potential systemic corticosteroid effects with prolonged use. Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders, glaucoma, or prostatic hypertrophy. Glycohale FB Rotacap should be used under medical supervision with regular monitoring of lung function and symptom control.
