About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Glycoflo F Capsule contains Formoterol (12 mcg) and Glycopyrrolate (25 mcg), a combination of a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist and an anticholinergic agent, respectively, indicated for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Formoterol acts by stimulating beta2-adrenergic receptors in the airway smooth muscle, leading to bronchodilation and improved airflow, while Glycopyrrolate inhibits muscarinic receptors, reducing bronchoconstriction and mucus secretion. This dual mechanism provides sustained bronchodilation, improving lung function, exercise tolerance, and reducing symptoms such as dyspnea. Glycoflo F Capsule is intended for regular use and is not suitable for acute bronchospasm relief. The combination is administered orally, with dosing tailored to the patient’s clinical response and severity of disease. Common adverse effects may include dry mouth, headache, tremor, and palpitations; caution is advised in patients with cardiovascular disorders, glaucoma, or urinary retention. Glycoflo F should be used under medical supervision, with regular monitoring of pulmonary function and symptom control. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to either component. This combination therapy offers an effective option for long-term management of COPD, enhancing patient quality of life by maintaining airway patency and reducing exacerbations.
