Gloss-H Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Losartan 50 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg, indicated for the treatment of hypertension. Losartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, works by blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby causing vasodilation and reducing aldosterone secretion, which leads to decreased blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes diuresis by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, resulting in increased excretion of sodium and water, which further aids in lowering blood pressure.
